Profile:

An experienced Software Engineer and Audio Technology graduate who is able to apply many skills acquired whilst studying the degree programme, involvement with the university radio station, real world experience and other personal projects (documented at www.lewty.org.uk/blog). As well as significant technical ability, skills include being able to go ahead and work on own initiative, as part of a larger team or as a team leader. Additional skills can also be obtained quickly through the efficient use of both printed literature and the internet.

Working on the companies' flagship software, Iris Radar (www.irisradar.com), core communications and capture technologies including capture and control of CCTV video and voice communications. Also carrying out an IT management role for both the company and supporting infrastructure for installed IRIS Radar systems.

Station Manager
An unpaid, elected position within the university society to be fully in charge of all aspects of Shock Radio including licences and budgeting. Responsibilities and achievements:

  • To look after the executive and normal members.
  • Chair all executive and normal meetings.
  • Be responsible for all members’ actions regarding radio and music licensing.
  • Supervise and authorise use of the studio.
  • Make sure everything is running smoothly and sort out any problems which may occur.
  • Also a member of the engineering and marketing teams helping with audio electronics, IT and graphic design.
  • Organise and provide equipment training.
  • Deal with outside companies for advertising deals.
  • During RSL broadcast, on call 24/7 in case of any problems.

A part time job working as an engineer for an independent computer company. Responsibilities and achievements:

  • Carried out repairs and upgrades to customers’ computers after diagnosing the problem.
  • Explained details for work required and costing to customers.
  • Assisted the manager on large off-site jobs including networking.
  • Gave help and advice both in the store and over the phone to customers.

 

Technical Skills:

As detailed in previous experience, technical skills are extensive, covering a wide range of fields and technologies. Not detailed above are personal projects and research which have produced skills in the following areas:
